Removal & DMCA

1. Delete your own data

You can delete any report and its uploaded image from your dashboard at any time; deleting the report deletes the stored image. To delete your entire account and everything attached to it, write to privacy@facedetective.io from the account email address.

2. Ask us not to show a result

If a link or thumbnail relates to you and should not be shown, send a request to privacy@facedetective.io including the exact URL, what the result shows, why it should be removed, and how we can verify that the request concerns you. We block verified URLs from being returned in future searches. Because we do not host the source page, blocking a result here does not delete it from the internet — you also need to contact the site or platform hosting it.

3. Priority cases

The following are handled immediately, without requiring a court order or a formal notice:

• Any image of a person under 18.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery.
• Material connected to an active threat to someone's safety.

Send these to legal@facedetective.io with the subject line "Priority removal".

4. Copyright notice (DMCA)

If you own copyright in an image and believe it is being used without authorisation in material we index, send a notice to legal@facedetective.io containing:

• Your name, address and contact details.
• Identification of the work you claim is infringed.
• The exact URLs of the material you are complaining about.
• A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that under penalty of perjury you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Valid notices are actioned promptly by removing the identified URLs from our results. Knowingly submitting a false notice may expose you to liability, including costs and legal fees.

5. Counter-notice

If your material was blocked and you believe that was a mistake or that the use is authorised, send a counter-notice to legal@facedetective.io identifying the material, stating under penalty of perjury your good faith belief that removal was an error, and providing your contact details and consent to jurisdiction for any resulting claim.

6. Response times

• Priority safety cases: as fast as possible, normally within 24 hours.
• Copyright notices: normally within 5 business days.
• Data deletion and privacy requests: within one month, as required by data protection law.

We may ask for information needed to verify a request. Abusive, automated or repeatedly unfounded requests may be declined.
